Evan Tsitsias - Director - New York

EVAN TSITSIAS is so happy to be working with the magical Leonie and Bluespots Productions. Hailing from Toronto Canada, Evan works as a director, producer, writer and performer. His plays include STRANGE MARY STRANGE, AFTERSHOCK, THE MURMURATION OF STARLINGS and UNSTUCK. His short film BAGGED, aired on the Canadian Network, CBC and screened at WIFT and DC Shorts Film Fest. He has also co-created and co-directed BERLIN BOUND with Sysiphos Der Flugelefant and Thin Skin Theatre at Kater Holzig in Berlin and GRARYA, THE BREAKFAST VARIATIONS and The BLIND at Irondale Centre in New York, where he is a founding member of the World Wide Lab.
He’s directed dozens of shows including First Dance, Edges, The Silent City, The Mercy Seat, Burn This!, Don’t Tell Mama, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, Chandelierva (New York Fringe), Perfect Life (Alleyway Theatre- NY),Kiss Me Kate, Cabaret, Footloose, and Joseph…Dreamcoat. He has produced Homebody/Kabul, Pterodactyls, Talk Sixty To Me and Shirley Valentine.
Evan has trained at York University, Sheridan College and has his Professional Training Certificate in Theatre of the Oppressed from London, England. He has worked with Ryerson University and is a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, Chicago Directors Lab, the Playwrights Guild of Canada, Tarragon Playwright’s Unit and completed a residency at Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center in the Hamptons.
